History of ANSSA
The Association of Nigerian Students & Scholars, Ankara (ANSSA) was officially founded on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Türkiye Bursları office in Hamamönü. The creation of the association was driven by a collective will among Nigerian students in Ankara to form a more structured and unified community. While the spirit of camaraderie and mutual support had always existed within the Nigerian student community, ANSSA marks the institutionalization of that spirit into an association with a clear organizational framework.
On this foundational day, the first executives were unanimously selected by vote, ensuring that leadership was both democratic and representative of the community’s values. This moment marked the beginning of a new chapter in promoting deeper connections, shared responsibility, and continuous growth among Nigerian students in Ankara.
ANSSA was established with the belief that having a formal association, with dedicated executives and conscious members, would help all Nigerian students feel more connected to one another and empowered in their endeavors. Through this structure, ANSSA aims to cultivate a stronger, more vibrant community that can support its members in both academic and social aspects, while contributing to the broader Nigerian diaspora in Türkiye.
