PRESS RELEASE
Ankara, 27 September 2025
The Association of Nigerian Students and Scholars in Ankara (ANSSA) hereby informs its members, partners, and the general public that, in line with the consensus reached at its 1st Congress Meeting held on 27 September 2025 at the YTB Hamamönü Office, the current executive council will continue in office for an additional one-year term .
This decision was reached through open deliberation during the congress, where members collectively emphasized the importance of institutional stability, organizational continuity, and the need to safeguard the ongoing developmental progress of the association. Several members expressed the view that, given ANSSA’s relatively recent establishment, an immediate leadership transition could negatively affect its growth trajectory and programmatic consistency .
The extension of the current executive’s mandate is therefore a consensual and temporary measure, taken in full respect of ANSSA’s democratic principles. It reflects the collective will of the congress and is aimed at strengthening internal structures, consolidating ongoing initiatives, and preparing the association for a more robust and sustainable electoral process in the future.
ANSSA remains firmly committed to transparency, accountability, and member participation. In line with resolutions adopted at the congress, the executive will continue to provide regular updates on financial matters, activities, and strategic plans, ensuring that members remain fully informed and engaged in the association’s governance .
The association appreciates the trust reposed in the current leadership and reaffirms its dedication to serving the interests of Nigerian students and scholars in Ankara with integrity, inclusiveness, and professionalism.
Signed,
The Executive Council
Association of Nigerian Students and Scholars in Ankara (ANSSA)
