Merit Scholarship is Open for Applications
Merit Scholarships will be awarded to a limited number of international students studying in Türkiye and currently residing in Türkiye, who meet the following conditions.
Applications for the Merit Scholarship will be accepted online between October 16 – November 17, 2023. Applicants will be able to apply for the Merit Scholarship Program after creating a membership on the Türkiye Bursları Application System (https://tbbs.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr) and filling in the information such as “Personal Information, Education Information, Social Activities, …”.
Applicants will be notified to confirm that their applications have been received.
The application information must be filled in completely and the required documents must be scanned and uploaded to the system in the appropriate format (pdf, jpeg, etc.). Otherwise, the application will be deemed invalid.
If any error or mistake is detected in the information and documents submitted during the application, the application will be deemed invalid. If this is detected after the scholarship is awarded, the scholarship amounts paid to the candidate will be collected back from the candidate within the framework of the relevant legislation.
Merit Scholarships cover a monthly scholarship payment for only one academic year and this payment is made only during the months of study (maximum 9 months).
The following amount will be paid to the candidates accepted under the Merit Scholarship Program;
1400 TL for undergraduate students,
2000 TL for master students,
2750 TL for PhD students.
Since there are limited quotas allocated for the Success Scholarship, a balanced distribution will be made according to country, university, department and level in determining the winning candidates.
2023 Success Scholarship Application Requirements
1. Being a citizen of a foreign country and not having Turkish citizenship as one of their dual citizenships, (Exchange students cannot apply)
2. Already being in Türkiye,
3. Having completed at least one academic year (2 semesters) at the undergraduate, graduate or doctoral level in Turkey (including scientific preparatory classes) and having a GPA of at least 3.00 (out of 4) for undergraduate students and at least 3.00 (out of 4) for graduate and doctoral students. Being 3.50 (out of 4),
4. Having a GPA of at least 3.00 (out of 4) for undergraduate students and at least 3.50 (out of 4) for Master and doctoral students,
5. Having a GPA of at least 2.50 (out of 4) if studying in Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy undergraduate programs,
6. Not having benefited from other scholarship programs within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships (including State, Government and Patronage Scholarships) in the past (including those whose scholarships were terminated)and not currently benefiting from them,
7. Not currently benefiting from a scholarship granted by any institution or organization.
Documents Required for Application
1. A signed and sealed Student Certificate obtained from the Registrar’s Office of the universities after September 15, 2023 (Mandatory).
2. A signed and sealed Transcript obtained from the Student Affairs Office of the universities after September 15, 2023 (Mandatory)
3. Valid ID or Passport Photocopy (Mandatory)
